UL issues more IECEE CB Scheme certificates for MED and MEAS categories than any other provider

UL remains the top global issuer of IECEE CB Scheme certificates for the MED and MEAS categories. As an IECEE National Certification Body (NCB) under the CB Scheme, UL is certified to conduct testing to IEC requirements for most IEC 60601 and IEC 61010 collateral and particular standards. With CBTL certified laboratories located in the three major medical device markets of United States, Europe, and Japan, UL can deliver accredited test results to support regulatory submissions around the world.

UL has been the overall leader in the MED category since at least 2002. In 2015, UL issued twice as many MED CB Test Certificates as its closest competitor. In 2015, UL also widened its lead in the MEAS category for products tested to IEC 61010, the standard for Laboratory, Test and Measurement Equipment.

Attaining the CB Test Certificates is an essential step for manufacturers in the medical equipment industry, as they certify products are in compliance with the requirements in the relevant IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) Standards.

UL helps MED and MEAS manufacturers achieve smooth and easy global market access for their products. Clients benefit from a wide range services, including advisory, tailored solutions and bundled certification processes. UL’s leading role as an issuer of IECEE CB certificates is just one example of where its services can help put clients ahead of the game.
